Evolution of gadgets and their impact on kids
Gadgets have evolved quicker than the Homo sapiens. Barely a snap of fingers and there are hoards of applications and devices that claim to help you in so many different ways.
There was once a bulky winding alarm clock that used to wake you up in the wee hours to help you get ready for your meetings. Then amazingly alarm clock was no more than 3 inches, when it became just an option in your phone.

Radio stations, music player, internet, social networking sites, camera, video recording! Gasp! Are we not out of breath?
When cellular phones were priced at prices that would involve some serious flinching by many so called middle class Indian families no one bothered so much as to who will oragnise their schedules or remind them of birthdays? But with the advent of these devices our memories are some how short-lived and our capacity to oraganise our lives have fallen down to zero levels. Mobile phones do not serve the purpose of just making, receiving or keeping a log of calls. You name it, you have it.
With increasing standard of lives and purchasing capacity, buying smartphones look like purchasing your monthly grocery. For all the corporate honchos and hotshot heads it has become a necessity rather than a luxury. Why won’t it? When a phone can go on to remind them of everything from board meetings to birthdays, help them check those important mails along with browsing and making calls of course they are going to prefer that to anything else.
But wait the buck does not stop here. There are youngsters, some as young as ten year olds, proudly own these all-in-all phones. For what? We may not be sure of that answer as yet. The latest fad has these children flaunting touch screen that they can fluently operate. With increasing health hazards and online (in)security they fail to understand the adverse consequences.
